Dear People of God,

‘Grace be with you, mercy, and peace from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love’ (2 John 1:3).

I share your overwhelming joy as you celebrate the Patronal Feast of Saint Augustine of Hippo, and the 15th Foundation Anniversary of your parish. It is but right for you to make this occasion a special opportunity to give thanks to God for the abundant blessings He has bestowed upon you. Celebrate then in humble prayers and joyful songs and dances as you strive to make this day a unique proclamation of how God’s favor has kept you along the many fruitful years of your journey as a community of faith.

Let me also congratulate you for the installation of the Reverend Father Roberto Pamatmat as your new Rector. In his person, God has given you today a shepherd to guide and feed you, to heal and protect you, and to nurture and care for you with the love of Christ. I ask you to gather around him as you wholeheartedly work together in the building up of yourselves as a community of faith.

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to reflect on and find inspiration in the message of this holy day as you consecrate yourselves to the worship of God and to the mission of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente in this part of the world.
