Our Worship
The Holy Eucharist, commonly called the Mass, is the central act of Christian worship. It is the sacrament of our redemption by Christ's
death and resurrection. Those who partake of the consecrated bread and wine receive the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
All who desire to receive it should diligently examine their lives, repent of their sins, and be in love and charity with
all people. The benefits we receive in the Eucharist are the forgiveness of our sins, the strengthening of our union with
Christ and one another, and the foretaste of the heavenly banquet which is our nourishment in eternal life. All baptized are
welcome to receive the Holy Communion.
Clergy and lay preachers are scheduled to preach and reflect on the Scripture readings
from the Sunday Propers. We believe that the Holy Scripture is the Word of God. It consists of books written by people inspired
by the Holy Spirit to show God at work in nature and history and to set forth the life and teachings of Jesus and to proclaim
the Good News of the Kingdom for all people.
The Healing Sacrament is conducted within the Eucharist service. Laying-on of hands
and anointing of oil with prayer is administered to those who seek God's healing. This is for the strengthening of their
souls and, if it be God’s will, their restoration to health.
St. Augustine’s musicians provide accompaniment
to the congregation while the choir leads them in worship singing. Singing traditional and contemporary Filipino hymns
enhances the worship experience of the congregation.
