Welcome!

Make Jesus’ Vision Fulfilled!

“That they may be one.”

About Us

The Cathedral of Jesus of Nazareth is one of the congregations of the Philippine Independent Catholic Church within the Diocese of the United States of America and Canada. It was founded in 1977 through the leadership of the late Bishop Eugenio Loreto. Also known as CJN, it has been a place of worship not only of the members of the Philippine Independent Catholic Church, but also of the members of the Roman Catholic Church, both from the Filipino and Hispanic communities. It has also been the spiritual home of some Americans. Hence, our vision, “That we may be one.”

As the first Filipino institution and facility in Tampa Bay Area, CJN served in the past as the center for Filipino causes.  Some of the existing Filipino-American Organizations were born at CJN. During the enthronement of the statue of Jesus of Nazareth in the church on May 18, 1979, Mayor William Poe of Tampa, declared that day as the Filipino-American Community Day.

We invite you to come and share
Jesus’ vision with us through Worship, Education, Fellowship and Ministry.

Worship

We carry traditional and ethnic religious and spiritual practices and devotions in connection with major liturgical feasts and seasons, and administer the Sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Matrimony. However, lay ministry and flexibility in the conduct and form of our worship are greatly encouraged. Join us in the following worship services:

Holy Eucharist with Healing Sacrament

Bible Study

An informed faith is like a lighted candle. Our faith can give more light to our fellowship and ministry when we constantly nurture and enrich it with the bible.

Fellowship

Join us in the following special events:

- Thanksgiving and Fellowship every first Sunday of the month.

- Christmas carol and party.

 Faith and Witness

We invite you to come and join us in making our faith and witness alive by committing ourselves:

- To visit, pray, lay hands and anoint oil anyone who is sick in their homes, in the hospitals or healing care centers.

- To open and share whatever resources we have for the ministry and for those who have urgent needs.

- To be always in solidarity and communion with those who work for justice and peace.
